I had always struggled to draw young children, especially babies because their faces are so soft and lack features that would otherwise lend themselves to great expression. After a family member gave birth to her daughter, Camila, I decided to try my hand at child portraiture once again. Many people appreciate my effort as they say it turned out quite well. The drawing was difficult to make with charcoal, but the original photo captured enough light and shadow to make this portrait possible.
